Important Notice for U.S. Customers Regarding Tarot & Card Deck, Jewelry, and Metal Dies Orders
As of Executive Order 14257, the United States now requires all foreign small businesses to prepay tariffs on certain goods entering the country. Unfortunately, this regulation applies directly to tarot and card decks, which U.S. customs classifies under the category βToys and Games,β as well as non-print items such Jewelry, and Metal Dies.
What This Means
Tariffs: As an example, Card decks are now taxed at rates between 15%β40%, depending on the country of manufacture.
Books Exempt (for now): Printed books continue to enter tariff-free. However, any order that includes one or more card decks is automatically subject to these new charges.
Surcharges: If you purchase a card deck with your order, you will receive a PayPal invoice for the applicable tariff surcharge. We cannot ship your order until this payment is received. If the surcharge remains unpaid, we are required to cancel and refund the order.
Shipping Advisory
We strongly recommend selecting USPS as the shipping method when ordering decks. Recently, UPS has begun returning parcels containing card decks without explanation, creating additional delays and complications. Until further notice, USPS remains the more reliable carrier for these items.
Why This Change?
This development is not unique to usβall international small publishers and creators who ship tarot, oracle, or card-based products to the U.S. are now affected. Unlike books, which the U.S. has historically recognized as culturally exempt from tariffs, decks fall under a more generic product classification. That distinction, though frustrating, is entirely out of our control.
Our Commitment
We know this is inconvenient and disappointing news. Please rest assured that we are doing everything possible to adapt smoothly, keep you informed, and ensure your orders reach you without unnecessary disruption. Your continued support means the world to us as we navigate these sudden changes.
