Ouroboros, the Serpent that bites its tail.
Symbol of infinity, eternity, self-generation, as the primordial dragon. It is also a limit, a barrier, a protective circle, or a border between chaos and cosmos. It is also related to movement, energy, and power.
At its centre is emptiness, silence, consciousness absorbed in total meditation. In tantric terms, the Ouroboros is Shakti and the empty space at its centre, Shiva.
In alchemical terms, it is the very process of the Opus Alchymicum, both the philosopher's egg and the alchemical stone.
