Beer Tarot Zine

CA$15.00

By Courtney Iseman

Beer Tarot: Pulling Cards, Pouring Beer, & Discovering Self is a brand new zine by beer writer Courtney Iseman. Fans of Courtney’s excellent Hugging the Bar newsletter will be familiar with her love for Tarot, closing out each issue with a card reading and applying it to the life of the craft beer fan.

In this new full-color zine, Courtney explains the history and basics of Tarot and interviews folks from the beer world about their connection to this tradition. Hear from EJ Nunns & Max Sherman at Trve Brewing in Denver, who designed a custom Tarot deck for the brewery and hosted readings in their taproom; Nacim Menu, the founder of Brasserie l’Ermitage, a brewery in Belgium themed around Tarot; and Stephanie Grant, a beer writer who provides food and beer pairing advice based upon random Tarot cards pulled and explained by Courtney. In addition, Courtney provides full card readings for 6 cards from Trve Brewing’s Tarot deck.

If you’re already into Tarot, this zine will provide a new avenue to explore within the interest, and if you’ve been curious about the practice, this zine is a light, non-intimidating way to dip your toes into the world of Tarot. Courtney dispels common misconceptions about what Tarot is and isn’t, and allows us to approach on our own terms.

This zine would make a great gift for someone in your life who’s into Tarot and craft beer!

About the Publisher

Bean to Barstool is run by David Nilsen, an Advanced Cicerone® & award-winning beer writer. He lives in Ohio with his wife, daughter, & very irritable cat.

Flavor is about a lot more than our taste buds.

Here’s the thing: our senses are made of magic—or at least, really cool science, which is kind of the same thing—and interact with our emotions, memories, & imaginations.

Bean to Barstool is about a deeper experience of tasting craft chocolate and artisan beverages, and what that experience can tell us about ourselves and the world around us.
