The Observer Transfigured (2 art pieces)

CA$1,250.00
Sold Out

This diptych followed the inkblot as a model from which the more detailed image was derived as a process of pareidolia. It corresponds to the verse “to observe is to alter” in (h)Aurorae by G. McCaughry, inspired in turn by similar concepts in William Blake’s Jerusalem “all who see become what they behold”. A pattern of mystical union that can also be found in the Brihadaranyaka Upanishad, where it is stated that “he who worships a deity and thinks, I am one and he another, knows not”. The image freely combines the manifold profile faces from the iconography of Ravana and the Virat Rupa, sitted on the lion skin of the yogis, with the sevenfold primordial “A” of the voces magicae.
~José Gabriel Alegría Sabogal

*Sales protocol for these original pieces will be unique in that, after a purchase is made on our website, we will personally reach out to each customer to arrange a customized shipping plan, ensuring both parties are aligned on what can and cannot be done to guarantee safe and smooth delivery of the items.
